# Live Meta controls

> Operate live Meta campaigns inline, edit structure in the builder, and apply diffs safely.

## Overview

**Campaigns → Live** is AdLoft's operator view for campaigns that are already running in Meta. It complements **Campaigns → Build** (new launches) and **Insights** (analytics).

The same inline control component also appears on campaign rows in **Insights** and **Winners Hub** so you can pause, scale, or open structural edits where you are already reviewing performance.

## Inline micro-edits (no draft)

These changes go **directly to Meta** — no draft is created:

Guardrails warn before large budget swings or learning-phase resets. Budget controls are hidden when the budget lives at a different level (CBO vs ABO).

## Structural edits (builder + Apply)

For retargeting, new ad sets, creative swaps, or other creation-shaped work:

1. Choose **Edit structure in builder** from Live, Insights, or Winners Hub.
2. AdLoft clones the live campaign into a `synced_campaign_clone` draft with a **frozen baseline snapshot**.
3. **Save** updates the draft only (same as any builder draft).
4. **Apply to Meta** diffs your edits against the baseline, checks for drift, and pushes only changed fields.

If you already have an open edit draft for that campaign, AdLoft offers **Resume draft** or **Start fresh**.

## Permissions

## Pacing strip

The Live tab shows operator pacing (not a mini-Insights dashboard):

* **Spend today** — synced daily metrics
* **Daily budget total** — sum of active campaign/ad set budgets (from live Meta read)
* **Projected EOD** — intraday spend projected to end of day
* **Off pace** — campaigns spending materially above or below expected intraday pace
* **7d ROAS / CPA** — context only

Use **Refresh** to pull a targeted live read from Meta for the linked ad account.

## Apply preview

On the builder **Review** step for synced clone drafts, the **Apply preview** section lists every field-level change that will be sent to Meta before you click **Apply to Meta**.

## Troubleshooting

* **Drift error on Apply** — Someone changed the live campaign in Meta after you started editing. Refresh Live, review changes, and update your draft or start fresh.
* **Budget control missing** — Budget may live at campaign level (CBO) or ad set level (ABO). Expand the campaign to edit ad set budgets when needed.
* **Reconnect Meta** — Inline edits and Apply require a valid Meta connection for the linked ad account.
